The Ten Commandment Lessons
The lessons God gave the Israelites after the Ten Commandments changed their lives. I am not sure, but were the Ten Commandments given to make the Israelites’ lives hard or to warm them of dangers and to show them the safe ways to go in? God also made it difficult for the Israelites to live new life. In (Deuteronomy 6 verses 6-9), I think God forced the Israelite parents and adults to must talk with the children about God’s laws. The Israelites must write words on doorposts and on gates. If the children did break the laws, who would God punish, the children, the parents, or even all the Israelites? The chaotic narrative of the transmission of the Ten Commandments is complicated. Who actually heard and saw God? Why would God want to speak to Moses, but intended the Israelites to hear the words of laws? Basically all of this seemed ambiguous in the reading.

The Ten Commandments and other laws (that are described in the bible) may seem harsh and bold (?), but I do not believe that God gave Israel the Ten Commandment and laws of His covenant to make the Israelites’ lives miserable.
I rather believe that God gave Israel the Ten Commandments and other laws to make them holy and clean just like God Himself.
As described in Lev. 11:44-45, God wanted His beloved people to consecrate themselves to become holy, because He was holy.
God also emphasized the importance of obeying His laws in Deut. 6:6-9 to prevent His people from both defiling themselves (as described in Lev. 18:30), and killing themselves (as described in Lev. 18:4-5).
In my opinion, people that did not follow or obey God’s laws were either killed or severely punished not only because they simply did not listen to God (who saved them, and gave them all the blessings), but also because they had become “unclean”
However, God did not kill or punish “unclean” people without giving them another chance to clean themselves; through various sacrifices people could become clean and holy again. In short, in my opinion, people that had desired to be unclean were likely killed or severely punished by God.
